While we’d like to say it’s as good as the iPhone 3G, we can’t. Windows Mobile just doesn’t offer the same ease of use, even with TouchFLO 3D. Still, it is one of the best Windows Mobile devices we’ve seen. If you don’t mind using a stylus every now and then, we thoroughly recommend the Touch HD. We found the HTC delivered an overall experience better than the Touch Diamond.

The most telling thing about the HTC Touch HD is that everyone we showed it to asked why Google didn’t use this as the phone to launch Android. In terms of hardware this is unquestionably a brilliant device and with a decent OS it could be a serious challenger to the iPhone. It’s one of the best Windows Mobile device on the market at the moment.

Hardware wise, the Touch HD is impressive, with a large display and a quality make. As a phone, it offers many functions and a very good sound during a call, but the software isn’t innovative. Touch HD is a good smartphone but doesn’t have what it takes to be a good multimedia phone. We hope this will be fixed by future software updates, making the HD the leader running on that OS.

For the business user, the Touch HD is just not practical. Instead, business users should consider the HTC Touch Pro or SE XPERIA X1. If you’re looking for the most flashy / sexy and capable multimedia and internet browsing phone that has ever been sold, the Touch HD deserves your serious consideration

The HTC Touch HD has the potential for greatness. Connectivity options are both fast and plentiful, the physical design is attractive, even battery life – which you’d assume would be first victim to the glorious display – surprises with its longevity.
